Admissions

Welcome!

Please read on for more information regarding our enrollment lottery. The application for the 2026-2027 school year is now available at the bottom of this page.

Public Information Sessions

We hosted three public information sessions at Idaho Novus Classical Academy for the public to attend leading up to our enrollment lottery for the 2026-2027 school year:

Due to the volume of requests, we cannot accommodate any private tour requests at this time. Once a seat is offered and accepted, there will be additional opportunities to come to the school before the first day, such as our parent orientation for accepted families.

Enrollment Opportunity

Idaho Novus Classical Academy is a tuition-free, public charter school that will serve students in grade K-8 for the 2026-2027 academic year and grow a grade each year to become a K-12 school. Seats are filled through a public lottery system based on availability, per Idaho Statute 33-5206. All prospective students will be given the opportunity to enroll regardless of race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, gender, socioeconomic status, or special needs.

  • Idaho Novus Classical Academy provides bus transportation within our primary attendance zone, available to all students, as well as a school lunch program with free and reduced meals for those who qualify.
  • Kindergartners must be age five on or before September 1, 2026, and first graders must be six on or before Sept. 1, 2026, per Idaho Statute 33-201, to enroll.
  • Once enrolled, a student must declare an intent to return annually to keep their seat for the following year.

Enrollment Lottery

The Idaho Legislature established the lottery process for charter school admission in statute 33-5206.  Please review this state statute for details regarding the lottery process.

Waitlist priorities:

  1. Returning students
  2. Children of founders or full-time school employees
  3. Siblings of currently enrolled students and seated students*
  4. Students who meet the eligibility criteria for transfer from a sister school within the American Classical Schools of Idaho federation
  5. Students living within the primary attendance zone
  6. All others

*Seated sibling preference is only applied once a linked sibling has been offered a seat during the lottery.

New Students
February 6- March 22: Pre-Lottery Applications Open
March 25  Public Lottery | Heritage Commons (Idaho Novus Classical Academy) *No results will be announced at the public drawing. Results will be sent via email.*

The enrollment lottery for the 2026-2027 school year will be held on March 25, 2026 at Idaho Novus Classical Academy.  All applicants will be notified of the drawing outcome via email within 5 days of the lottery drawing. This information will not be shared over the phone but via email. Seat acceptance is due within 48 hours of offer of enrollment, or your seat will be forfeited to the next name on the waitlist. Likewise, to keep the seat, completed registration is due within 4 days of acceptance.

When a lottery application is received for a grade that is full, the applicant is placed on a waitlist. Applications submitted after March 22, 2026 are considered post-lottery applications and will be added to the waitlist if seats are not available. Students will be offered seats in the order received and based on enrollment priority as they become available in order of priority. By applying this rule objectively and consistently, we ensure that the lottery process for our school is fair and compliant with Idaho code.

Registration

We will ask you to provide us with the following within 4 days of accepting a seat:

  • Completed registration form
  • Certified copy of birth certificate
  • Proof of residency*
  • Current immunization record
  • Signed student records release form
  • Custody documents, if applicable

*The “residence” of a prospective student is verified by a proof of residency document of a parent or guardian dated within the last 30 days. Proof of residency may be a current (dated within the last 30 days) utility bill with a visible service address, current property tax bill, current rental lease agreement, current pay stubs bearing the residential address, valid car registration, or government or official correspondence to the residential address. For families relocating to Idaho, real estate contracts are not sufficient to demonstrate residency – a recorded deed to a property is required at the time of registration, or, a current rental lease agreement.
