Chess Club

• Chess Club hosted by Mr. Hukkinen will begin on Thursday, September 4 for students in grade 3 and above. This year, students will practice perseverance by working through challenging positions and games, and they will grow in courage by making bold moves and learning from mistakes. They will show courtesy and a spirit of service by respecting their opponents, helping younger players, and supporting one another in growth. Through honest play and the self-government needed for focus and discipline, they will come to see chess as a way to strengthen both mind and character. This group meets Thursdays 3:45-4:45.

Art Club

• Art Club is a time for 4th – 7th graders to enjoy creative expression in a fun environment with other students who enjoy being artistically expressive. Students will come away from art club having been able to experiment with their talents and hopefully grow meaningful friendships as well. Art Club will begin on Thursday, October 9th for students in grade 4 and above. The club will be hosted by Mrs. Steenblik and meet in Mrs. Whittaker’s room. There will be a $20 entrance fee to cover the cost of materials paid through MySchoolBucks. This group meets every other Thursday from 3:30-4:30 pm. Register at MySchoolBucks.

Theater Club

• Theater Club will begin on Wednesday, October 1. Membership is open to students in grades 5 and above. This club will be hosted by Mrs. Morse and Ms. Williams, who will host an information session in Room 205 at 3:30pm on Wednesday, September 3. This group meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30pm students will learn the fundamentals of theatre: pantomime, tableau, improvisation, scene work, vocal technique, choreography and performance. The fall program will culminate in a showcase in December.

Yearbook

• The Yearbook Club is made up of creative and dedicated 6th and 7th graders who work together to capture the heart of our school year. Members serve as photographers and copywriters, collaborating to document both important events and everyday moments that reflect who we are as a school community. Through teamwork, storytelling, and attention to detail, we strive to showcase our core values through photography and the written word—creating a yearbook that students will enjoy and treasure for years to come.
