Novus students will receive a broad human education in the liberal arts and sciences. The Latin word Libertas means freedom, and this an education befitting citizens of a free nation.
We introduce students to America's founding documents early and build a strong foundation in American government to prepare them for the responsibilities of citizenship.
An American classical education emphasizes the pursuit of truth, which can be discovered through rigorous study of our literary, philosophic, historic, and artistic traditions.

Read More >Our mission is to train the minds and improve the hearts of students through a classical, content-rich curriculum that emphasizes virtuous living, traditional learning, and civic responsibility.
Our vision is to form future citizens who uphold the ideals of our country’s founding and promote the continuation of our American experiment—through a classical, great books curriculum designed to engage the student in the highest matters and the deepest questions of truth, justice, virtue, and beauty.
Idaho Novus Classical Academy is an American classical academy and a Member School in the Hillsdale College K-12 Education Initiative. Our curriculum scope and sequence was written by scholars and master teachers at Hillsdale College and in American classical schools across the nation. Novus is not the next new idea. Instead, we are working to restore a classical American public education that focuses on training the minds and improving the hearts of students. The importance of this work can be understood through the following statement from George Washington’s Inaugural Address in 1789:
“I dwell on this prospect with every satisfaction which an ardent love for my Country can inspire: since there is no truth more thoroughly established, than that there exists in the economy and course of nature, an indissoluble union between virtue and happiness, between duty and advantage, between the genuine maxims of an honest and magnanimous policy, and the solid rewards of public prosperity and felicity…”
An American classical education aims to prepare students to flourish and pursue happiness as citizens of our free republic.
