What is special education?
Idaho Novus Classical Academy provides services to students who meet the eligibility requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) under one of the 14 disability categories allowed in the state of Idaho. Idaho Novus Classical Academy seeks to meet its obligations under the IDEA to provide a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) to those who qualify as a special education student under one of these categories in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE). Idaho Novus Classical Academy is served by special education professionals and related service providers.
Idaho Novus Classical Academy is responsible to locate, refer and identify all children, ages 5 to 21, who are suspected of having a disability and are enrolled in our school.
Do you suspect that your child might have a disability?
If a child is having significant difficulty with vision, hearing, speech, behavior, is experiencing slow development typical for his/her age, physical impairments, or learning difficulty, he/she may be a child with a disability. Early identification and intervention is essential to help ensure school success. For children ages 3 to 5, Developmental Screenings are held in your local school district. Please contact your local school district special services department.
